
Jim Scheffler, Consulting Engineer, and Product Management, is a key contributor for the PRICOM Audio product line. Jim has worked in a consulting capacity for PRICOM since 1981 on Pro-Audio products including Analog to Digital converters, Digital to Analog converters, Mixers, and Level Controllers. All these projects were developed for customers of PRICOM.
Jim started his professional audio career at Universal Recording in 1975. One of his first assignments was to edit the master tapes from a session for The Chicago Chamber Orchestra with only the conductor’s scores and notes to do the inter-cuts. Since that time, he has worked in some of the largest and most famous recording studios across the globe.
Over the
years, Jim has had the privilege of working with, and learning from a few of the
world’s greatest recording engineers. Murray Allen (Stan Kenton Records), Doug
Brand (2 Grammy nominations in the sixties), Toby Foster (gifted music mixer and
teacher), Al Schmitt (Multiple Grammy Winner), Bill Schnee (Multiple Grammy
Winner),
Bruce Swedien (Multiple Grammy Winner).
In addition to his recording career, Jim has gained quite a reputation as an electronics engineer. He has designed, built and installed many facets of audio equipment including microphone preamps, mixers, level controllers, monitoring systems, and complete sound systems for large venues.
